Good to know
Will my image be uploaded?
No. This version processes images locally using browser Canvas APIs and has no image-upload endpoint. Loading the website itself still requires a web request.
Why can the output be larger?
File format, source encoding, dimensions and quality affect the result. Re-encoding an already optimized image can make it larger. The tool shows actual sizes, not a promised reduction.
What about HEIC, animations or batches?
Currently, static JPG, PNG and WebP are supported, one image at a time. HEIC, GIF, animated WebP/PNG, SVG and batch processing are not supported.
What should I know before converting?
The original is never overwritten, but the output is re-encoded. Metadata may be removed. JPG does not preserve transparency; this tool fills transparent areas with white. Keep important originals.
